# 3.134.0-Mainnet

Runtime upgrade spec 131 → 134, transaction version 2 → 3, enacted at block #4461061 on 2026-10-13. It moves the chain from Polkadot SDK and Frontier stable2409 to stable2512.

**EVM: Cancun → Osaka**

Before this upgrade, the EVM ran Cancun rules. It now runs the Osaka configuration, which turns on:

* EIP-7702, account delegation (type-4 transactions). An EOA can delegate its code to a contract.
* EIP-7623, calldata floor. A transaction is charged at least 21000 + 10 × zero bytes + 40 × non-zero bytes gas. Transactions heavy on calldata and light on computation cost more, and a gas limit below the floor is rejected. If you hard-code gas limits for large calldata, re-estimate them.
* EIP-7939, the CLZ opcode (0x1e, 5 gas).

The precompile set is unchanged. BLS12-381 (EIP-2537) and P256VERIFY (EIP-7951) are not available.

**Staking: balance locks → holds**

* Staked funds are now held instead of locked.
  * Free no longer includes staked CTC. Staked CTC now shows under reserved with a Staking hold, and frozen drops to 0.
  * The account total (free + reserved) is unchanged. Nobody's funds moved.
  * Example stash before and after: free 4,612.6 → 260.9 CTC, frozen 4,351.6 → 0, reserved 0 → 4,351.6 CTC.
* All 330 staking accounts on mainnet are migrated. No action is needed from stakers.
* Wallets, explorers, and dashboards that compute "staked" from frozen, or "transferable" from free - frozen, should read the staking hold instead.

**For wallets, SDKs and indexers**

* New transaction extension WeightReclaim, transaction version 3. Tools that read chain metadata pick this up automatically, including polkadot.js and subxt. Offline signers and anything with a hard-coded extension list must update.
* Two balances events were added: MintedCredit and BurnedDebt.
  * Decoding by index breaks: every balances event from Suspended onward shifts by 2.
  * BurnedDebt is not a new burn: it now marks the base-fee burn that already happened silently, after almost every EVM transaction.
* Identity storage was migrated to v2 (349 identities). Only tools that read raw identity storage are affected.
* New pallet MultiBlockMigrations at index 29.

**Ethereum JSON-RPC (node 3.134.0)**

* RPC nodes must run 3.134.0 or newer. Older nodes fail eth\_call, eth\_estimateGas and debug\_traceCall on post-upgrade blocks.
* eth\_getLogs is limited to a 2048-block range per request. Paginate backfills.
* An unknown blockHash in an EIP-1898 block parameter now returns error -32001. Before, it silently returned 0 or ran against the pending block.
* eth\_feeHistory reads blockCount differently. Decimal strings now mean decimal, so "10" is 10 blocks (it used to be read as 0x10 = 16), and JSON integers are accepted.

**Validators**

* session.setKeys must now be signed by the stash account.
* Nodes on 3.134.0 default to the fork-aware transaction pool.
